A'maiya Allen International Junior Miss 2016 Jr. Teen

Since the age of 9, A’Maiya has enjoyed competing in pageants.

After placing 3rd runner up in her first pageant, she realized the stage was her second home. Now at 16, she is the reigning International Junior Miss International Jr. Teen with the IJM Scholarship Program.
Naturally an introvert, A’Maiya has used the world of pageantry to overcome her shyness by launching her platform, “High Heels High Hopes”. Through her platform she shares her message with elementary and middle school girls at local conferences and mentoring programs to promote confidence and self-love through the 3 pillars: Education, Elegance and Service.  Additionally, since 5th grade she has spoken out publically against bullying in schools and social media to several thousand people including students, parents, teachers and civic leaders at conferences, community events, churches and schools.
She is a recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award for completing over 1000 hours of community service and the Pink Eagle Award from the True Eagle Beauty Mentoring Program for her active involvement in mentoring and being a role model.
As a high honor roll high school student, A’Maiya plays the alto saxophone in the marching band and clarinet in the school’s symphonic band. As a model, A’Maiya has appeared in several Kohl’s ads and walked the runway in Live Out Loud Charity fashion shows supporting suicide prevention.  She recently completed an intern with American Model & Pageant Magazine at  their Top Model of the Year Awards Gala in Chicago, IL and gained invaluable behind the scenes experience working with producers, photographers, and design artists in producing a pageant event.
A’Maiya resides in Bolingbrook, IL and is the daughter of Sharon and David Allen. A’Maiya plans to graduate from Howard University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.   She has completed journalism summer programs at Indiana University and the University of Florida in preparation for college and her dream career of working as an anchor or entertainment reporter for a major TV network.
